Jonathan Fleury, a proud member of Skownan First Nation in Treaty 2 Territory, is a distinguished leader in Information and Communication Technology (ICT), project management, and Indigenous relations. Raised in Mallard, a small Métis community in Central Manitoba, Jonathan's strong work ethic and dedication to community service were shaped by his parents, and these values have guided his professional journey.
As the Owner and Founder of Indigenous Technologies, Jonathan is dedicated to delivering cutting-edge IT solutions to Indigenous communities. His company focuses on developing high-speed fiber optic networks and implementing digital health strategies to enhance connectivity and healthcare services in remote areas. Alongside his work with Indigenous Technologies, he serves as the Digital Health Advisor for Norway House Cree Nation (NHCN), where he leads efforts to improve digital health systems, train healthcare staff, and optimize health information infrastructure.
Jonathan also contributes his expertise as an IT & Broadband Specialist with Kici Sipi Communications, where he advocates for the expansion of fiber optic networks to bring reliable high-speed internet to Indigenous communities in Manitoba, improving access to education, healthcare, and economic opportunities.
In addition to his entrepreneurial work, Jonathan is the Chair of the Global Centre for Indigenomics, where he collaborates with leaders and stakeholders to advance Indigenous economic development and governance. His role involves guiding the organization's mission to foster economic empowerment for Indigenous peoples globally.
Previously, Jonathan was the Director of eHealth at the First Nations Health and Social Secretariat of Manitoba (FNHSSM), managing a multi-million-dollar budget, leading a team of IT professionals, and implementing digital health solutions across First Nations health centers. His leadership helped improve healthcare delivery and positioned the department for long-term financial success.
Jonathan's passion for empowering Indigenous communities extends to initiatives like the World Indigenous Business Forum (WIBF) and Empowering Indigenous Youth in Governance and Leadership (EIYGL), where he works to foster leadership, education, and opportunities for Indigenous youth.
Currently pursuing his MBA at the Asper School of Business, Jonathan continues to expand his skills and deepen his impact. His career reflects a lifelong commitment to improving the well-being of Indigenous peoples through innovative solutions, strong leadership, and collaboration.
