Aiden was born on Treaty 11 territory in Yellowknife, NT and now lives on Treaty 7 territory in Calgary. He is a proud member of the Northwest Territories Metis Nation and studied Economics and Indigenous Studies at the University of Victoria. After graduating in 2023, Aiden moved back to Calgary with the intent to help build capacity for First Nations communities. Aiden uses his unique perspective on Economic Development to help build support for Cando’s programs through writing and research.
Aiden received his Technician Aboriginal Economic Developer certification from Cando in 2023 and was a member of the 2024 Economic Development Youth Summit Planning Committee after attending himself the year before.
With an understanding of the barriers that community development faces, Aiden’s role as Research Coordinator helps communicate and document data on socio-economic conditions.
