Benjamin Feagin Jr. has a M.Sc. in Urban Ecology from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in New York, USA. He is a prior Research Scientist with the U.S. Department of Energy's Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL). He Is the co-owner of AgriTech North with his partner and fiancé Fabian Velez; they are the first year-round grower in Northwestern Ontario with a mission to end food insecurity for rural and remote Indigenous communities across Canada. This has led them to innovating in six key areas to make year-round growing in the North feasible and financially sustainable. These technologies are in various stages of commercialization, resulting in rapid growth of the organization to meet market need. We have also incorporated our own non-profit pending charitable status, True Wealth Foundation, which delivers our priorities in low-cost food distribution, education, equitable access to services, and more.
