monique tamara (van Vuuren) is a doctoral re-searcher whose work distinctly foregrounds experience as a site for empirical knowledge and as the foundation for analytical intuition. Her current re-search honours //Hui!Gaeb (where the clouds gather/Cape Town) as a site that re-imagines, and reaffirms Indigenomics, and rematriation. She, is also the founder, and co-director of South African Vegan People Of People (SAVPOC). SAVPOC is a company that nurtures cross-sector interventions, events, and long-term solidarities that deeply respect the sacred relationships between land, anymals, and people. SAVPOC is led by Indigenous and powerful womyn subjected to intersectional oppressions team of food scientists, health practitioners, specialty bakers, and herbalists who honour food as medicine, and centre Indigenomics, and practices that align with the land as a regenerative extension of ourselves.
