monique tamara (van Vuuren) also known as Imarā which means the giver in Khoekhoegowab- is a social entrepreneur, and doctoral re-searcher whose work distinctly foregrounds experience as a site for empirical knowledge, and as the foundation for analytical intuition. Her current re-search honours //Hui!Gaeb (where the clouds gather/Cape Town) as a site that re-imagines, and reaffirms Indigenomics, and rematriation. She, is also the founder, and co-director of South African Vegan People Of People (SAVPOC). SAVPOC nurtures cross-sector interventions, events, and long-term solidarities that deeply respect the sacred relationships between land, anymals, and people. Team SAVPOC is led by an AfroIndigenous team of womyn food scientists, health practitioners, specialty bakers, and herbalists who honour food as medicine. SAVPOC centres Indigenomics, and practices that align with the land as a regenerative extension of ourselves.
