Tasha Brooks is an assistant professor in the faculty of management at Royal Roads University. She brings a rich background in Indigenous education, governance, and economic development to her current roles, which include serving as an elected councillor for the Cowichan Tribes First Nation and sitting on various committees, including finance, economic development, workforce development, and education.
Previously, Tasha was a Post-Secondary Advisor for Cowichan Tribes and Indigenous Education Navigator and Term Instructor in Indigenous/Xwulmuxw Studies at Vancouver Island University (VIU). Her academic credentials include an Executive Certificate from Harvard University in Leading People and Building Sustainable Communities (2024), a Master of Business Administration, and a Master of Science in International Management from VIU. She also holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from VIU (2011) and has achieved certifications from the Council for the Advancement of Native Development Officers (CANDO), including a Technician of Aboriginal Economic Development Certificate (2015) and a Professional Aboriginal Economic Development Officer Certificate (2020).
