Helen Bobiwash is Anishinabe kwe from the Thessalon First Nation. She is of mixed heritage descent, her father being Anishinabe nini and her mother of settler descent. Helen grew up in a small town in Northern Ontario, the youngest of 8 siblings raised by a single mother on social assistance. She felt exclusion felt the experienced by families with low incomes. A Chartered Professional Accountant (formerly Certified Management Accountant), Helen has taken on her bear clan responsibility for community wellbeing. She uses her financial knowledge to support her First Nation leadership and management to goals for community wellbeing and prosperity.
