Edgar is the Vice-President of Santa Rita, an Indigenous community-based tourism initiative in Ecuador. Committed to fostering sustainability and social resilience within his community, Edgar combines Kichwa and Western perspectives on business management. After finishing college he left his community looking for opportunities in the big city, but during the COVID pandemic, he lost his job. In the middle of the crisis, he went back to his community in Santa Rita and took the leadership of the tourism and cacao farming businesses of his community. Currently, he is leading multiple initiatives to improve the entrepreneurial infrastructure of his community and showcase their products to the world.
